Etihad changes policy on Instant membership card allowance


Dear all

Following message received from Etihad ,


Effective 01 April 2012 all Etihad (base) members shall be

required to present their permanent Etihad Guest card at the

check-in counter to benefit from the extra baggage allowance

The permanent card will be issued automatically after the first flight is credited to the account. The delivery of the card will reach 4 weeks, depends on the address.


Instant membership card holders will only receive this 5 kgs once the card is activated

The following 2 steps must be done to ensure card activation .


step 1 * Must Enroll online

Step 2*  After first flight is credited to the account


Guests holding instant membership cards will receive an email from Etihad Guest stating ' simply print out and present a copy of this email to enjoy the "extra 5kg baggage allowance" .

or

Those who already received actual guest card by post from Etihad wont have issues .


Previously Etihad allowed extra 5 kgs even though the guest holding temporary card. But now their policy changed globally .


We would like to advice all  Passengers to check with Etihad before going to Airport .
